Freebie: Happy Hallowe'en

Boy am I cutting it close, but it is still Hallowe'en--for the next 12 minutes anyway!

While I am aware that some of you do not celebrate Hallowe'en, it has always been one of my favourite occasions. Did you know that the word Hallowe'en dates back to around 1745 and is of Christian origin? The word "Halloween" means "hallowed evening" or "holy evening" and it comes from a Scottish term for All Hallows' Eve (the evening before All Hallows' Day) (Wikepedia).

There is so much incredible history wrapped up into Hallowe'en and one of these years I may have the time to share more of it!

Anyway, here is the preview for today's freebie...

This digital paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi. I've used resources from Creative Fabrica, HG Designs and Pixel Scrapper. Full credits in the file. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Goodness there is so much going on tomorrow but I don't think I'll get a chance to get it all done especially since I've a Dr. appt. tomorrow afternoon. Wish me luck!

Until next time,

Card Design: Limited Runs Progressive Challenge ... Sept./Oct.

Limited Runs Badge

Hey folks! I'm here today to post my card for last month's Progressive Challenge over at Limited Runs! I'm afraid my post is late as I was waiting on some info from Nikki who unfortunately was rather ill last week. I did however send my card to Nikki on time; so, thankfully I still qualify for the next image.

The Progressive Challenge is actually on Facebook (FB) in the Limited Runs Group and can be found HERE. You will need to join the group in order to access the information. Now thankfully, Nikki is willing to accept mailed in entries for those people like me who don't have FB accounts. You can find her email addy in the side bar of the store (click on the image above to head there). In fact, if you don't have a blog, that is okay too. Simply send a photo and she'll add you in.

Check out the fun image that we got to work with this past challenge...

If you'd like to purchase the Cactus image you can now find it for $2.00, its regular price, over in the Limited Runs Store on a special page that showcases all the Progressive Challenge images. Click HERE to head there now.

Hello everyone! I am popping in today to wish all of my fellow Canadians a very happy Thanksgiving! I hope that you've all had a wonderful weekend surrounded by family and friends. I created a free paper in celebration of this great holiday.

To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the full credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.Given that it is midnight, I hope I haven't made any errors. :)

Card Design: Pattie's Creations Challenge #139…Shades of Fall

http://pattiescreationschallenge.blogspot.ca

Hey folks! I'm here today to announce the next challenge over at Pattie's Creations Design Challenge. This time around for Challenge #139, the theme is Shades of Fall. Autumn is officially here and it is time to showcase all the wonderful colours of the season. Reds, golds, oranges and greens abound in nature around us and this challenge we want to see some of these same colours of the season on your project!

Here is my card, I hope that I haven't forgotten any important details:

General Info:
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop). I will print it out and assemble it a later date.

FRONT

Digital Image Details:
  • Pumpkin With Vines: This is such a great image for the fall season. You can find the image in Pattie's Etsy shop by clicking on the name or watermark linked below.
  • This image was coloured completely digitally using Photoshop Elements.

INSIDE

Digital Image Details:
  • Pumpkin With Vines: I repeated the image on the inside using it as a mask that was paper pieced with the same texture as the inside panel on the front (more details below).

OVERALL
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • Both the sentiment used on the front and the one on the inside are from Paulette from Create with TLC. For great freebies and inspiration be sure to click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and for awesome sets for purchase, click HERE to go to the home page of the store. These sentiments were recoloured to match the colours in this particular project.

 Digital Paper Details:
  • I have used one of my own papers. It is my Pumpkins paper from the future A Bountiful Harvest Kit. You can find it on my blog for FREE by clicking HERE.
https://app.box.com/s/3hsihk82q9p2dimos2dd
  • The paper used as a panel in the middle of the front and as a texture for the mask on the inside was created using a basic shape and one of the standard patterns available in Photoshop Elements. I believe it was the weave pattern in the Patterns 2 selection. For some reason when I went to check it wouldn't let me know the name of it. Sadly, my copy of Elements on my main computer has been acting up a bit since the last major update of Windows 10.

Digital Embellishment Details:
  • I have applied shadow layer styles to give certain elements some depth. These styles were designed by Elif Sahin, Pixel Scrapper.

Challenges I am hoping to enter...

You have until Nov. 2nd to enter our challenge which should give you lots of time to get a creation done. Remember the theme is Shades of Fall. I really hope that you will be able to join us. You can enter twice per challenge and of course MUST follow all the challenge requirements that are posted for each challenge (please click HERE to become familiar with all the rules). In addition to all the typical criterion, you MUST USE A DIGITAL OR STAMPED IMAGE to qualify for the drawing (unless stated otherwise). We would absolutely love to see you use a Pattie's Creations (PC) image on your card, but you are allowed to use other images. If you do use a PC image, you will gain an extra entry in the draw and will have a better chance to WIN!  Easy Peasy right?!

Pop over to the challenge blog and check out what my fabulous teammates have offered up for inspiration. Oh and don't forget…Pattie offers up a new freebie the first Friday of the month and it will remain up for approximately two weeks; so, be sure to pop over and check it out as well!

Well guys, that is it for this one. Hopefully I will see you all very soon.

Until next time,
