Card Design: Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge...July

http://gerdasteinerdesigns.com

Hello there!  I'm afraid I'm not feeling the greatest again.  Man, this has been a lot tougher of a year so far with many of my health conditions flaring up in one way or another.  My body needs to start listening to my head because I just don't have time for this nonsense.  Or I suppose my head needs to start listening to my body but I'm afraid that one is a lot tougher to pull off!

Anyway, the one thing I have managed to pull off is getting my entry into the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge.  Check out the cute mermaid that we got to work with this month...

Mermaid - Digital Stamp

Tee hee. I just love that hair and her clamshell swimming top! Everyone who played along in last month's challenge received Mermaid for free. If you decide to hop on and play along in the Gerda Steiner Designs Progressive Challenge, then you can purchase this digital by clicking HERE (or on the watermark above to head to its location in the store). This way you'll receive next month's digital stamp for free.

Here are my card and details...

I'm Sponsoring...Show Us Your Pussies Cat Lover's Challenge Blog

Oh dear! I have another sponsorship that I should have told you about at the beginning of July. My good friend Ike has opened a new challenge blog and I am fortunate enough to have been asked to sponsor this month's challenge over at the Show Us Your Pussies Cat Lover's Challenge Blog

The current challenge started on July 5th and will run until midnight on August 1st (EET).  The theme for this month is Flowers. You can make any project you like (i.e., cards, mixed media, scrapbook pages, etc.) but it must have a CAT as the main feature and include some FLOWERS. There is no restriction to the number of times you can enter and you can use any image company that you like.

The prize for the winner is the following Floral Cats Kit that I created especially for this challenge...

To help provide some incentive, I'm offering up one of the paper pieced floral cat silhouettes as a freebie...

Hey everyone!  It is time for another Freebie Friday over at the Scribbles Designs Challenge Blog. We're returning to the vault again for this week's offering. The weather right now is a scorcher in Ontario where I live and it is the perfect time to be heading to the beach. As such, I've dipped into the store vault to find a great image & sentiment combo perfect for any summer related card or scrapbook layout! Please note that since this image/sentiment comes directly out of the store, it will ONLY BE AVAILABLE for 1 WEEK as a freebie. So, be sure to go over and grab it NOW while you can before it is slipped back into the vault.

Here is a preview of what the image looks like:

Blog Hop: Vintage Vacation with TLC Creations

Hello everyone!  It is officially summertime in North America and other parts of the northern hemisphere.  As such, it is often a time of vacation and travelling for many.  Now, if you're stuck at home this summer then this bloghop is for you--travelling without all the hassle and you get some great freebies to add to your TLC collection as well!

Many of us on the Create with TLC Design Team will be hosting a spot during the blog hop. All of us will share a creation that we have made using at least one if not more of Paulette's elements and just YOUR luck, the image that we all use will be available for free download on each blog hop stop along the way!

You should have arrived here from the talented Karen's blog.  If you are just starting, you can find a full list of all the hop stops at the bottom of this post.

For my card, I got to use the Bon Voyage Waving Goodbye image you see below; so, be sure to head on over to Paulette's BLOG and leave her some love if you grab it!

To save image, left click to bring it up in the lightbox in its full size and then right click and scroll down to 'save image as'.

Time to check out the card I created...

General Information:

  • I tried a new technique for this card--the spotlight technique.  I looked up a couple different tutorials to figure out what to do but it was pretty straightforward.
  • Keeping with the vintage theme, I decided to give the whole card an older feel.
  • This card has been created 100% digitally and then layered in a Mock Up (courtesy of Frisk Shop).
