Bookmark Design: Beatrix Potter from Nicecrane Designs

http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Hello!  I hope that you all have had a good week thus far.

Today I am posting a couple of bookmarks that I made using designs from Nicecrane Designs I thought that they'd make a cute gift accompanied by a stuffed animal or even a Beatrix Potter book itself.

I decided that given the sadness of the last couple weeks with the loss of my mother in law, that I was due for some silliness; so, I photographed each of the bookmarks with some friends of mine.

BOOKMARK 1
General Notes:
  • Meet Valentine.  He recently had a bath so he is nice and clean.  He was a gift that my hubby gave me for our very first Valentine's Day as a married couple which means Valentine will be 25 years old on the fourteenth of February.  He still has a very special place in my heart.
  • I figured I better show you a closer picture of the bookmark as well...
BOOKMARK 2
General Notes:
  • Meet Quack.  He was a gift from my parents when I was a teenager.  Goodness, he is even older than Valentine.  I don't remember specifically when I got him but I'm going to guess that I was about fifteen.
  • Here is a closer picture of this one as well...
Digital Image Details:
  • Beatrix Potter Bookmarks:  Both of these bookmarks were created with templates from the Beatrix Potter Bookmark set.  For this first one, I used the image you see second in from the right of the preview below.  The second bookmark was created using the last one on the right.  Click on the name or the watermark below to take you to its location in the store.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • The base of each of the bookmarks was created with Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
Ribbon:
  • The ribbon used on both bookmarks is Crafts brand and was purchased at Dollarama.
Punch:
  • I used a star shaped Crafts brand punch, also purchased at Dollarama, to create the hole in each bookmark.
Challenges I am hoping to enter...

Card Design: Final Posting for Fresh Brewed Designs

Hello and happy Friday to you all!  Can you believe we're almost done January?  I'm still trying to wrap my head around it.  Right now, I'm here to bring you my final official DT creation as part of the Fresh Brewed Designs team.  As I mentioned back in January, Heather has decided to cut the team in half so today will mark my last official post.  I say official because I'm sure I'll be sharing some unofficial posts with you throughout the year.  Heather is still one of my favourite designers, and not being on the team anymore is not going to change that.

There are just a few days left to enter into the latest challenge going on over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  This month is is a Favourites Challenge. Use your favorite papers, embellies, or colours.  Or, you can use your favorite FBD challenge from 2014.  Instead, you may want to CASE one of the many FBD Designers cards.  This challenge is limitless!  The interpretation is up to you!!

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW ALL THE RULES TO WIN!
  1. This challenge ends Saturday, January 31st.
  2. You can enter up to 5 times with your NEW creations (no back linking please).
  3. If you use an FBD image, please add FBD to the end of your name.
For all the challenge details including the link up, please click HERE.

Now it is time to check out my card and all the details...

General Information:
  • While one might think that a 'Favourites' challenge might be deceptively easy, in my case, it certainly was not.  I just have too many favourites of EVERYTHING--images, colours, etc.  I finally settled on these:
    • Pink and black are one of my favourite colour combinations.
    • The two designer papers I used are among some of my favourites.
    • The image I used is definitely one of my favourite FBD images.
    • I used my favourite FBD sketch.
  •  Now for an important bulletin...

Wonderful Wednesdays---Let's Try This Again....

Hey gang.  I'm going to do my best to reprieve Wonderful Wednesdays again this year.  In 2013 I managed to get items done each and every month.  Unfortunately in 2014, I just got so crazy busy that there was no way I was able to keep it up.  I think the problem was that I wanted to make sure that I was getting things out each and every Wednesday of the month and that simply was not realistic.  I think I was also trying to create too many things at a time as well.  Then it just became overwhelming and when I become overwhelmed, I don't deal very well so it just got dropped completely.

However, I've been thinking that maybe I can try again as long as I pare back and just do it once a month with maybe the occasional bonus if I have the time.  After all, I'm sure you'd rather have one new thing a month going into your kit as opposed to nothing at all, right?  So, going with this idea, it is time to revive Wonderful Wednesdays.

Now if you are new to my blog and do not understand what I am referring to, you can check out the very first post I did on this concept back in January 2013 by clicking HERE.  It briefly explains the details of what I had wanted to do accomplish with this concept.  You can also find some free word art in that post.  Other items for the January kit can be found by clicking on the respective links below:

2013
  • Blue snowflake paper:  Click HERE.
  • Blue snowflake edging:  Click HERE.
  • 'wish for snow' word overlays + a circle date stamp in blue:  Click HERE.
Please note that the quality of my creations offered up in the beginning months of 2013 may not be up to standard as I was just starting out in design.

2014
  • Matching pink snowflake paper + four frosted papers:  Click HERE.
  • Snowflake brads (gold):  Click HERE.
  • Matching snowflake edging in five more colours + a linear date stamp in blue:: HERE.

Now back in 2014, I finally gave a name to the January Kit and called it 'Snow Much Fun'.  So, here are two new papers you can add to your January kit...

These digital papers are 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 ppi.  Credits:  I have used resources from Delicious Scraps and Designercow.  To grab these papers, click the respective download buttons to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

Stay tuned for a new Wonderful Wednesday post coming your way soon!

Until next time,

My final progressive card is done for the month.  Just a couple more projects and posts to go to fulfill DT duties.  Once again I appreciate all of the condolences that people have left over the loss of my husband's mother.  It is still a bit rough around here but time helps to heal all wounds.

Hopefully, I will be back on track soon.
