The 12 Days of Christmas Quest: Day Seven

Hello and happy New Year's Eve everyone!  Just one more sleep until a brand new year!

First I must apologize.  I'm rather later than I expected to be getting out today's post.  When I went downstairs so that I could be with the hubs while I worked, I couldn't access any Blogger websites.  Not my own, nor anyone else's. I kept getting a 403 forbidden notice from our security suite saying it was blocking the download of some sort of virus.  Huh?!  I was only opening a web page, I wasn't downloading anything.  Anyway, we thought it was the laptop since I had opened pages upstairs all afternoon up until 30 minutes earlier.  So while the hubs tried to check things out on the laptop, he told me to head upstairs and work on this post.  Only problem was, same thing starting happening upstairs.  Suffice it to say, it took over an hour and a half to figure out what was going on.  In the end we simply updated the security software one more time and that seems to have resolved the issue for now at least.  Due to losing all that time, I also haven't had the chance to email yesterday's paper out to those who played along.  Given that I still have two more, maybe three more posts to get ready tonight and that it is New Year's Eve, more than likely I will not get a chance to mail them until tomorrow now.  If yoy are waiting, I appreciate your patience.  Now onto today's part of the quest.

It is the seventh day of Christmas and it is time to continue the quest.  If you missed day one click HERE to start from the beginning and read all the details.

The background was achieved with texture from Karen's Scraps and Graphics.  Karen has some wonderful freebies available.  Unfortunately, she had to close her own store, as so many people seem to have to do these days, but her stuff is still available for sale on other sites.  Freebies can be picked up on her blog which you can find by clicking HERE.  Finally, I have used a layer style from Michael better known as Designercow.  He offers up quite a few layer styles for free that can be used commercially on his site PHOTOSHOPlayerstyle.com.  If you are into design, please be sure to check out these amazing designers.

Card Design: Imagine That...Sweet Deer

http://www.imaginethatdigistamp.com/index.html

Hello everyone.  I hope that you are all doing well on this last Sunday of 2014.  Jeepers!  It seems like only a short while ago, that we started 2014.  Unfortunately, I think it is going to now be a trend that the years seem to zip by at zooming speeds.  Well, I better make the most of each of those quick days.  I hope that you will as well!

Right now I'm here to share my final Imagine That! Digis by Kris project for 2014!  In fact, this may just be my last card of the year period!  I still have my momma's Christmas card to create and show you but I think that will not happen until the end of the coming week at this point.  I'm trying to take some time off to spend with my poor neglected husband!

Here are my card and details.  Check it out...

General Details:
  • One can never have enough thank you cards and since my stash is now gone, I need to replenish it.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Sweet Deer: I came to know Kris and her digis better almost about a year ago after having won a couple sets in a challenge I had entered on another challenge blog.  This was one of the sets I chose for my winnings.  It is just so darn sweet and very versatile as well!  Clicking on the name or the watermark below, will take you directly to its location in the store.  One of the great things about Kris' work is that the full sets in the store come with a coloured version.  Once again, I managed to get this card done in one evening simply due to the fact that I didn't have to colour it.  I simply added some ground using fine point markers and a coloured pencil, and then grounded the image with the colourless maker and Copic BG000.  While I love colouring, it can be rather time consuming so it always great to have the options that Kris presents.

Embellishments:
  • The little hearts are Crafts brand and were purchased at Dollarama.  There are four of them, one in each corner of the image background but the one on the top right got a bit washed out with the flash.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great sentiment was one available in the Sweet Deer set.

OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card, image and sentiment base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
  • The paper I used as matting is from Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.

Digital Paper Products:
  • I used a digital paper I created for The 12 Days of Christmas Quest for my card.  Those deer in the pattern were just perfect for this card so I couldn't resist.  You will have the opportunity to earn this paper if you play along in the quest, later in the week.  Don't know what I'm talking about but would like to find out?  Click HERE to find out all the details from that first post.
Challenge I am entering...

Don't Forget...
You still have a couple of days to enter the two challenges taking place on the Imagine That blog.

Well folks, that is it for now. Stay tuned for more Imagine That! Digis by Kris creations, coming your way soon along with all my regular features and design team posts.  The next task in the 12 Days of Christmas Quest will be out in just a few minutes as well.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi.  Today's paper was created using elements from three great designers whose work I've come to know this year.

The first element, the light string, is courtesy of Delicious Scraps.  This particular company has quite a number of resources that can be used commercially.  From overlays and frames to charms and stickers, there are lots of digital goodies to choose from.  They also have quite a few free actions that I'm hoping to make use of in the new year.  The red button with the word 'merry' is an element from Sheila Reid with Pixel Scrapper.  I'm a super fan of Sheila's work and use her commercial use resources quite often.  The background was created using an overlay from Eye Inspire, another wonderful designer, I came across this past year.  Along with a few textures, one of which I've used here, Rhonda often offers up layer styles for free.  In fact, I've used several of her layer styles in a paper coming up later in the week.  If you have money to spend, all these designers have great resources for sale as well!

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set!  So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the third day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number three.
Keep playing along and if you answer correctly,
you'll earn another paper for free!!!

Task:
Head on over to the digital stamp section of the Ike's Art store and submit the name of any image that would be suitable for a Christmas card, saucy or otherwise.   Hint:  If you scroll through the images in the 'My Latest Designs' section, you'll find at least seven with a holiday or winter theme.

The 12 Days of Christmas Quest Begins Today!

Merry Christmas one and all!!!

Today marks the official start of the 12 Days of Christmas for 2014.  I thought that I would commemorate this special time of year with something fun.

Over the past year, I've come across several designers (new to me) who generously share many of their resources for free and several of them are offered up for commercial use.  Thanks to the generosity of these special people, it provides me with an opportunity to bring new goodies to you.  As such, I've been able to create 12 new papers just for you.  However, you are going to have to earn them; but, don't worry, I'm not going to make it too hard on you.

Each day over the next 12 days, you're going to be given a task to follow.  I'll be sending you on a quest to find or provide me with certain facts from the stores or blogs of designers that I love.  Then it is will just be a matter of emailing me the answer to my query and you'll earn a free digital paper.

I know that this is a crazy busy time and hopefully the majority of you are off line and spending time with your family and friends; so, be rest assured, that you will have plenty of time to complete each task.  While you may submit an answer each day, you can also wait until the end and submit all your answers at the same time.  You may even want to split it in half!  It is completely up to you as to when and how you submit your answers AS LONG AS all your answers are sent in no later than January 12th, 2015.

Here is the paper up for grabs today...

This paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 dpi.  It was created using an overlay from Heather Green of HG Graphic Designs.  Heather has an incredible selection of personal use items for designers and also a very large section of resources available for commercial use.  In fact, for the low fee of $15.00 (US), you can use any of her specified PUO items, commercially.  That is an incredible deal and one I am hoping to take advantage of in the new year.  A few of the papers I've designed for this special 12 Days of Christmas offer, will be using some of Heather's overlays and even some of her layer styles.  Complete credit information is provided within the file.  Be sure to go and visit Heather and check out her great selection of goodies by clicking HERE.

Play along each of the 12 days and you'll earn yourself the full set!  So, how about we get started with today's clue!!!

On the first day of Christmas,
it is time to earn paper number one,
So, I hope that you will all join in
and have yourself a little bit of fun!!!
