Card Design: Imagine That...Progressive Challenge for November

http://imaginethatdigistamp.blogspot.ca/
Hello and a happy Friday to you all.  It is time to post my creation for the Imagine That Progressive Challenge. This wonderful progressive challenge does not disappoint as we get the opportunity to earn a fabulous new set each month by linking up. Kris' is an amazing designer and I am thrilled to earn sets from her.

This month the images that everyone who is part of the progressive challenge gets to play with are in the wonderful set,
Jars of Cheer...
While Kris' sets are always versatile, this one is even more so.  There are four fabulous different images that you can choose from to represent a whole slew of occasions.  There is also an awesome set of papers in the store that coordinate with this set called Sweet Tooth.  Unfortunately, I wasn't able to copy the watermark but you can find the papers by clicking HERE to head to their location in the store.
As always, you can work with either one of the coloured images, or one of the line art ones. This particular set also comes with seven great sentiments to help you out!  If you missed out, you can still play along by purchasing this set from the store (click on the image name or watermark above to go to the image's location in the store).
Here are my card and details, I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

General Details:

  • I'm such a bad daughter.  It dawned on me on Nov. 3rd that I still hadn't created a card for my parents' 52nd Anniversary and I had less than a week to do so as their anniversary was on the 10th.  Oopsies.  October was such a crazy month, I just don't know what happened.  I blame it on the head injury I incurred at the beginning of the month in that fall I took and I'm sticking to that excuse. ;)  At the rate I'm going, they might get it by Christmas!

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Jars of Cheer: Details for how to get a hold of it are included underneath the set preview in the above section. I coloured it mostly digitally and added text to the 'notes'.  I also added a glass layer style courtesy of Webtreats, Inc., although it is a bit difficult to see.  The string was coloured with coloured pencils.  I printed an extra "Jar full of love" tag and popped it up a dimensional dot.
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • This great circle sentiment is from Netty's Cards.  You can find it and more fabulous freebies by clicking HERE and clicking on the freebies tab at the top of the page.  If you grab any of them, be sure to leave Netty some love.
Embellishments:
  • The flowers are Crafts brand, purchased at Dollarama.
  • The buttons were purchased at the Dollar Tree.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment:
  • This fabulous sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  I picked it up as a freebie.  Check out Paulette's wonderful blog by clicking HERE or click HERE to go to the store.
OVERALL
Paper Products:

  • Card, image and sentiment base: Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
  • The dotted patterned paper is from the Recollection's The Sweetest Thing Paper Pad.  The other came from my stash although I don't remember the original pad name but it would also be Recollection.
  • The paper I used as matting is from Michael's open stock scrapbook paper.

Happy Thanksgiving America!

Hello and happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends, followers and readers!  We had our Thanksgiving up here in Canada back in October, so now it is your turn.

Here is a paper that you will be hopefully be able to use on next year's fall projects.

 https://app.box.com/s/rnhbt2clnjcul4kl91bq

This digital paper is in 3600 x 3600 pixels, in jpg format and published at 300 ppi. To grab it, click the download button to be taken to a download location.  In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders.

So, if you do happen to live in the States, enjoy your feast today.  I'd love for someone to have a great big slice of apple pie and let me know how good it was.

For everyone else around the world, have a great day too!  I am hoping to be back again either later today or tomorrow with a DT creation and then of course, I still have to get two of my progressive posts done by Sunday.  However, first it is time to get our team invites out to The 12 Months of Christmas DT Team.  We'll be announcing who made it, on the new blog on Monday so I hope you'll join us over there then.

Well, that is it for this one.  See you all again real soon!

Until next time,

Hello and happy Wednesday to you all!  It is time to bring you all some freshly brewed inspiration to perk up the middle of your week.  Today starts the second week of our latest challenge going on over at Fresh Brewed Designs.  Right now we are halfway through our Give Thanks Challenge which means you have one more week to get your entries in.  This is the time of year when we see a focus on gratitude as it is on many people's minds throughout the Thanksgiving season.  However, remember that giving thanks is ALWAYS in season, no matter what time of year it is.  We would love to see you create and enter a card expressing gratitude during this next week for your chance to win a fabulous prize!!!

YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW ALL THE RULES TO WIN!
  1. This challenge ends Tuesday, December 2nd.
  2. You can enter up to 5 times with your NEW creations (no back linking please).
  3. If you use an FBD image, please add FBD to the end of your name.
We will be awarding one winner in each challenge, 3 Digital Stamps.  For all the challenge details including the link up, please click HERE.

Before I show you my card, it is important to note the following...

Disclaimer:
It clearly states in the Fresh Brewed Designs, terms of use, that images must be hand coloured.  Therefore, please note that I sought out and received permission from the owner, to create a hybrid project that is partially manipulated digitally and partially coloured in by hand.  If you decide that you want to use Fresh Brewed Designs images in this way (partially digitally manipulated), you must seek out permission from Heather before doing so EACH TIME and indicate that you have, when posting.

General Information:
  • I've gone rather untraditional with this card as I've made it into a birthday card.  However, the theme of giving thanks is definitely prevalent.

FRONT
Digital Image Details:
  • Cutie Bug Gift:  This adorable image is currently available in the FBD store.  You can find it by clicking on the image watermark below.
  • This image has been coloured using a combination of techniques.  Parts were manipulated digitally (see disclaimer above) and then the image was printed out and the remaining parts were coloured by hand using Copic markers. Digital credits include:
    • Ribbon and bow were altered using a layer style courtesy of:  HG Graphic Designs.
    • The gift was paper pieced with one of my papers (see info below).
    • Faux stitching was added around the rectangle.

Digital Sentiment Details:
  • I created the pennant shape digitally, coloured it and then added text before printing it.  I then fussy cut the pennant out and added it to the front of the card.

INSIDE
Digital Sentiment Details:
  • I created the top part of the sentiment specifically for this card.
  • The 'happy birthday' sentiment was created by Paulette from Create with TLC.  This is another freebie that I've used before.  This time I coloured in the banner part with the same layer style that I used on the ribbon and bow from the image on the front.  Click HERE to go to Paulette's blog and HERE to go to the store.

Challenges I hope to enter...
Be sure to head over to Fresh Brewed Designs and check out what my fellow teammies are up to these days and of course check out the store for all the fabulous images available for purchase.  You definitely won't be disappointed!

At Fresh Brewed Designs we always have a fresh pot of creativity brewing. So stop by and join us for a cuppa whenever you want!

Until next time,

Additional notes:  Just a reminder...
Remember that terms of use or angel policies will differ with each and every company selling digital images.  While some companies do not take issue with their images being made into digital creations, others do, so make sure you seek permission from EACH COMPANY involved.  Also, keep in mind that if you do create a digital piece of work, even with permission, this does not alter the fact that the original image belongs to the original artist(s).  Creating a hybrid project DOES NOT allow you to claim the new creation as your own and do with it as you wish.  The fact that you'd be using an image for your own personal use does not automatically allow you to do what you want with another artist's work.  So, please be sure to get permission first before going ahead with your ideas.

Card Design: Two Challenges -- One Card...DS4J & Doodle Pantry November

Once again I've decided to combine challenges with one creation.  I've used the stamp that I got in the DigiStamps4Joy progressive challenge and also a freebie from Doodle Pantry.

This card also makes another one for the Christmas card pot!  It is getting close to the true time of panic.  Hopefully, I will end up with enough to get me through!

Christmas Card Count to date: 27

I was a bit stumped on how to incorporate the tags into my card at first.  Then I did a Google image search for 'tags on cards' and found a great example that you can check out HERE if you'd like.  Unfortunately, there is no watermark on that card, and to be honest, I'm not exactly sure how the site where I found it works, so I don't know who the original artist is which means I wasn't able to thank them for the inspiration.  Just another important reason to make sure you add watermarks to all your projects.

FRONT
First up--DS4J...
http://digistamps4joy-sa.blogspot.ca/2014/01/monthly-christmas-challenge-january-2014.html
Here is the great DS4J set we got to work with this month:
These tags are definitely versatile and could be used to add the perfect touch to a present you are handing out this coming holiday.

Digital Image Details:
  • Christmas Tags:  If you aren't part of the progressive challenge and would like to purchase it so that you can join in, click HERE or on the watermark above to find it in the DS4J store.
  • I decided to triplicate the snowflake tag only as I wanted to keep the wintry-snow theme running throughout.  I used chalk to add some colour to the snowflakes.
Don't forget that if you are interested in joining the DS4J progressive Christmas card challenge you will need to contact Desíre (her details are at the bottom of the DS4J link up post). I've linked the DS4J badge above, to take you to that post.

Next up--Doodle Pantry...
http://doodlepantryblog.blogspot.ca/
It was high time for me to get back into the Doodle Pantry challenges and with the great set up for grabs this month, I definitely couldn't resist.  Remember, Doodle Pantry challenges are unique.  If you use a Doodle Pantry image (not just a sentiment) then not only will your name be entered for a final prize coupon BUT you will also get the featured product for free.  That is pretty darn incredible!!!  Now of course, you are welcome to submit cards following the rules and theme using an image from any digital company but you will only be entered into the draw for the final prize coupon.

Check out the amazing featured product up for grabs in this month's challenge, for those who do enter using a Doodle Pantry image...

Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy, oh boy!  Seriously, there is no way I could NOT enter and get this fabulous set.
