Happy Friday evening to you all.  It is time to post my project for the August, From the Heart Stamps progressive stamp of the month challenge.  In order to enter the progressive challenge, you must either have received the latest image by having participated in the previous month or you can buy the stamp for the current month's challenge.  Everyone who enters and follows the rules is a winner because you automatically get the stamp for the next month's challenge.  Stop by the site and check out the rules for yourself.  While you are there, have a look around.  They have some really great images.

Here are my card and details.  I hope I haven't forgotten anything important...

Once again I've decided to combine challenges with one creation.  I've used the stamp that I got in the Gerda Steiner Designs progressive challenge to create the front of my card and then took a freebie I got from Sami Stamps and used it on the inside of my card.

First up for the FRONT OF THE CARD--Gerda Steiner Designs... Progressive Challenge for August

Now for the INSIDE OF THE CARD with Sami Stamps...

http://samistamp.blogspot.ca
Sami Stamps is another company that I love.  Unfortunately, my regular monthly work keeps me so busy I don't have a chance to play in their challenges as often as I would like.  However, I was lucky again this month to find a great Hallowe'en image in my collection to work on the inside.

Be sure to stop by Sami Stamps.  Click HERE for the store, and HERE for the blog.  Sami has the most beautiful images and each month offers up a new freebie.  In addition to the monthly challenge there is always great inspiration from the design team.  You won't be disappointed.

Here is what I came up with for the inside of my card...
Digital Image Details:
  • Halloween Kitty:  You can find this image in the store in the Hallowe'en section.  I've linked the watermark below to take you to that section.  This image was coloured in and grounded with Copic Markers.

Here is a card that I have created to help inspire you...

    General information:
    • Today I a showcasing a more CAS card.  As I've mentioned previously, I want to try and do more clean and simple layouts.  I just find them so elegant.
    • This card was inspired by a layout I saw over at Your Next Stamp Challenges by one of their team members, Peggy.  It was such a lovely CAS design and I thought it would be perfect for this card although I didn't use string like she did.  With the size of my image, it just didn't work out.  However, I have kept it shades of purple so that I can enter their challenge which is thankfully on until the end of August.  Check out the great inspirational photo they have.  Look at all that yummy purple and there are flowers on the cupcake as well, just like in my image:

    FRONT
    Digital Image Details:
    • Flower Planter:  The main image on the front is the Flower Planter which was part of the April new release. The image is currently available in the FBD store.  You can find it by clicking on the image name or watermark below.
      http://www.freshbreweddesigns.com/item_986/Flower-Planter.htm
      • The image was coloured in with Copic Markers.  Copious amounts of glitter was added to the flowers and around the edge of the matting.  Then the image was fussy cut out and added to the front.
    Digital Sentiment:
    • One I created.  I layered it right on to the paper before printing.  I even added a glitter layer style to give it that much more sparkle.

    INSIDE
    Digital Sentiment:
    • Once again, just something I created specifically for this card.

    OVERALL

    • Image and sentiment base:  Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, white.
    • Card base:  Michael's Recollection's Cardstock, Passion Fruit collection.

Digital Design: The Beauty of Butterflies...Week 2

    http://nicecranedesigns.com/
Hello everyone!  Welcome to the second week of The Beauty of Butterflies give-a-way.  If you missed week 1, please head HERE.

To refresh your memory, once a week, over the course of six weeks (starting August 19th) I will be presenting one section of a special new mini kit I have created called The Beauty of Butterflies.  This kit will contain six items in each of the following categories:
    • Patterned Papers
    • Textured Papers
    • Brads
    • Buttons
    • Journal Cards
    • Tags
I've completed all but the tags so far.  Once done, there will be a total of 36 items in the kit.  Each week you'll also get a freebie from that section.

This kit was inspired by the beautiful vintage butterflies available from Nicecrane Designs.  One of the wonderful things about the sets available through Nicecrane Designs is that quite a few of the images can be used for commercial use.  This of course is perfect for people like me, who enjoy doing design work.

This week I'll be showcasing the Textured Papers...

As promised, here is your freebie from this next set:
    https://app.box.com/s/55nhq97bvbz512ldy4ms
To grab this paper click HERE or on the preview above to be taken to a download location. In the zip folder you will find a copy of the paper, its preview sheet, the credit information and my terms of use which are standard to all my folders. As usual, the paper is 3600 x 3600 pixels (i.e. 12 inches) and published at 300 dpi.

Don't forget, you can earn the full set for free...

As a special gift, I've decided to give away the entire Beauty of Butterflies Mini Kit to anyone who can show me proof of purchase of ANYTHING from the Nicecrane Designs store from August 19th until September 30th, 2014 (freebies obtained through the store do not count).  Just email me a copy of a dated Nicecrane Designs receipt with your name on it (PLEASE delete or cover up any other personal identifying information that you want to keep private, ie. address, tel. no. credit card or paypal information, etc.).  I just need something from the store with your name and date on it, a description of what you bought, and the price, in order to confirm your purchase.  It is as simple as that.  Kits will be mailed out as soon as the final section of tags is complete.   If you do make a purchase from the ND store and want this mini kit, just send an email with your proof of purchase attached, to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, or by clicking HERE to bring the address up in your email program, with the subject heading, "Beauty of Butterflies Kit Request".  You can find all of Ignacio's wonderful designs in the Nicecrane Designs store.  Click HERE to head there now.

Next week I'll present the Brads to you, including a freebie and a reminder for how to get the full set; so, I'll hope that you'll continue to drop by.

Don't forget, to stay current on ALL the latest releases and to check out the fabulous inspiration from my fellow DT members, be sure to head over to the Nicecrane Designs blog.

12 Months of Christmas Link Up July Winners

    http://decossesdynamitedoodles.blogspot.ca/p/the-12-days-of-christmas-card-link-up.html
With one whole week left in August, I'm finally getting to the winners for July.  Man has this been a busy month.  With all the design work I've been trying to get done, I'm sorely falling behind on everything else--AGAIN!

However, I have managed to carve some time today to announce the stats for July.  It has been another wonderful month filled with lots of creativity.  Thank you for continuing to link up your Christmas cards.  Here are the stats for the month of July...

    JULY

Woop, Woop.  I actually got all the numbers to add up this month.  Go me!  Twenty-One people linked up a total of 94 cards to the 12 Months of Christmas Link Up during the month of July.  That is our highest number yet!  Given all the Christmas in July challenges out there, I'm not surprised by the higher numbers.  Eighteen of those individuals linked up a minimum of two cards each qualifying them to receive the seventh paper of the season, which I've included the watermark of, below. EDIT:  Oh man, I just saw this preview on my laptop.  Apparently, I can never design upstairs again or else I need to figure out how to properly adjust the screen because everything looks so light when it obviously isn't.  Here is the updated image:

So, the following people need to send an email to decossesdynamitedoodles {at} yahoo {dot} ca, or by clicking HERE to bring the address up in your email program, with the subject heading, "Christmas Link Up--July":
    • Crafting Vicky
    • Margaret A
    • Helen/Made by Helen
    • Edwina Brown
    • Kelly L.
    • Hazel
    • Lady Anne
    • centralnyscrapper
    • Susan Renshaw
    • Pumpy

    • Ellis
    • D~DesignsByDragonfly
    • Ursula Uphof
    • Suze
    • KT Fit Kitty
    • Kathleen
Now, as always, if you thought you had linked up two cards but don't find your name in the list above, just let me know and we'll sort things out.

I ask that you continue to be patient with waiting for me to send out your paper.  I promise that I'll get to it as quick as I can.  Please note that these names have now also been added to the link up page as well, for anyone who doesn't see this post.

Don't forget, each month you have an opportunity to earn a new Christmas themed paper.  Then at the end of the year there will be an opportunity to potentially earn even more goodies in a special draw.  You can jump in at any time.  All you need to do is link up two cards in any one month, to my 12 Months of Christmas Link Up which can be found by clicking the same titled page above or HERE.  You'll find all the details you need on that post.  Hope to see your cards linked up there!

    REMINDER...
Earlier this week when I brought the latest new releases from Imagine That to you, I gave you some incentive to purchase one of Kris' great new Christmas themed releases called Snow Mice.

Well folks, that is it for today.  Time to head downstairs and start working on some of the cards I need to get finished by next weekend.  Have a great evening all!
